Some works of art not only leave you speechless, they also cast a spell on your soul for eternity....
Padmaavat is a movie that has been beautifully sculpted by Sanjay Leela Bhansali... Bhansali makes sure that the audience remain engaged both visually and emotionally throughout the movie.. So lets hop into the review section with further adieu...
So yes the epic has three strong central characters (Rani Padmaavati, Raja Ratan Sen, Sultan Alauddin Khilji) portrayed exceptionally well by three brilliant actors..
I assure you as you watch the movie neither is there a lack of culture nor a lack of entertainment..The movie doesnt disappoint in any manner.. ( And the dresses are to die for)
As you watch the movie there gradually builds up a disgust and immense hatred for Alauddin Khilji but there also builds up a natural respect for Ranveer Singh.. The way he has portrayed the character without any inhibitions and complete dedication truly leaves you in awe.. He does complete justice to the character and makes you fall in love with his acting in every single scene.. ( Eew, he's creepy )
Let us take a moment to appreciate the wonder named Deepika Padukone.. I truly believe she added not just beauty but depth to the story of Padmaavati.. From the jungles of Singhal, to the palace of Mewar and ultimately to the Jauhar fire she left no single place for us to doubt her acting skills.. ( I am in love with her)
If there is a kingdom that has gained respect from this movie it is definitely the Rajput.. The movie just emphasizes the culture and norms of Rajputs with so much beauty.. Whenever Shahid Kapoor appears on screen he makes clear that Rajputs never back down nor do they wager away from their moral code... ( And he looks every bit royal as possible..)
The love story of Padmaavati showed how she loved and worshiped Ratan Sen.. (Reminded me of Bajirao- Mastani a lot)
Its not just the central characters that encapture our attention.. Aditi Rao as Mehrunnisa and Jim Sarbh as Malik Kafur also steal our hearts with their performances.. They add value and essence throughtout the movie..
Verdict :
As the movie ends, it makes you just fall in love with the concept of true love and sacrifice...
( Oopsie...Long post..Sorry... ☺️☺️)
