tHE QUeeeN...

The most hyped up movie of this year was QUEEN..All the blogs and channels kept bursting out with the movie's reviews..And atlast I watched it like a month back.

For starters, I must admit that even in my wildest dreams I never imagined Kangana to act so well..Her acting was flawless and genuine...Wayyy to go Kangana!!!!

Initially when she enjoys the glitters and glors of the wedding celebration ,she portrays a bride to be really well..Must say I, her eyes do sparkle
Then when she comes to know that the much awaited wedding shall not take place due to that wicked love of her life, the way she cries in the locked up room, the way she eats up a ladoo when she gets completely hungry, all that do add tiny cute details to the whole movie..

Seriously this guy deserves to be hanged..I really would love to see all the guys who want to get hitched up with a girl who looks British but dil se hindustani to be smacked really hard...They are such hypocrites...This movie did bring out that aspect very well..
Characterization at its best...

Their friendship was the most colorful part of this whole movie..Lisa Haydon has pinned down the role perfectly to the last dot...Their friendship wasnt all lovey dovey..It was clears, precise and more natural..It was really clever of the director to not create another couple of Sholay friends..Well after all 'opposites do attract' I guess...

The minute she started dancing, I literally couldnt control myself from hitting the dance floor...The song and the way she danced like she was totally drunk, everything was so well picturised.

Friendship in a place where you least expect it...

TAKA.... I love this character like hell..He's funny and sweet but most of all adorable...Perfect casting and perfect acting..

Mish Boyko as Oleksander...Well I would have loved to have such a roomie for sure ;)

I did like the neat line of chemistry they shared..Wasnt filmy at all

In brief, eventhough at first when you hear a girl going on her honeymoon alone after a broken marriage sounds a bit too filmy but once you start watching this movie does keeps you gripped on till the last shot..
The storyline is simple and the acting is full-filling..
Queen is truly worth a watch and worth the pay <3

Nature just got cooler

Senegal's Lake Retba or, as the French refer to it, Lac Rose, is pinker than any milkshake. Experts say the lake gives off its pink hue due to cyanobacteria, a harmless halophilic bacteria found in the water. Lake Retba has a high salt content, much like that of the Dead Sea, allowing people to float effortlessly in the massive pink water.

Now thats what happens when nature starts becoming COOL

Who wouldn't want to swim in strawberry milkshake ;)

Accomplishment # 2

Yesterday I made awesome not-so-circular dosas for mom...

Well yes being brought up in a south indian household this is something I would have expected to have learnt and done by the age of 5 or so..But I was never found of idlis and dosas as I was of rotis and raitas..
Call it fate or so but my bestie in my primary school was from Goa and from her I got the initially tips and tricks to cook north indian foods.
By the time I reached high school the only cuisine I was interested in cooking was North Indian and despised the south indian idlis and dosas to the hell..

So on the account of mother's day I made mom dosas for dinner..The were cooked perfect (thanks to the inborn chef in me ) but they were more oval in shape than circular..

Hope I would rectify the shape in my future attempts :D

Accomplishment # 1

Finally I learnt how to apply a proper clean eyeline... I know that most girls of my age would have learnt so much about the varieties and styles of applying an eyeliner that one could easily award them with a PhD. But I never gave much importance to this particular beauty aspect until I met my bestiee KRISHNA ASHOKAN NAMBIAR (soon to be doc).. The way she wears eyeliner makes her eye pop up and gives her the most dashing look ever..I secretly envied  that a lot because I wasnt so good at this job..But now I am so so proud of myself that I could even write a blog entry about my achievement..

I know when the whole world is busy inventing space houses in Mars and building up hotels in the middle of the sea, getting so excited for such a small act is not quite understandable..But what is to life if we don't value these tiny wonders...

Lovestory ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ A Millionaire's Lovestory  ♥

On my adhering to my friend's suggestion I watched my second Korean movie.Well in my hostel we have this huge korean movie fandom where all seniors go mad over korean movies and especially the actors ;) ;)

So this was my second Korean movie (as mentioned above) and it was pretty nice..Though the ending resembled Nicholas Sparks book ' A Walk to Remember '  still it was worth watching..

I loved the casting in the movie. From the 2 protagonists to the characters playing minute roles were perfectly cast and their acting was perfect..

The movie was filled with cute-adorable-honey-coated scenes and some really sweet comic ones too..

The chemistry between the lead pair was speechless..Those untold gazes filled with love and affection was very well pictured and that laid the foundation to such a sweet lovestory...

Initially when the main protagonist tries to sound nasty to his love interest and the way she keeps taking those comments in a not-so-offending manner really adds more depth to the screenplay..

And finally the protagonist's love interest is soo soo adorable..She looks picture perfect and so angelic..I have truly got a crush on this girl ;)

1 year of Biotech

1 year of learning Biotechnology has taught me a lot of things...

For instance,

I have learnt properly how to pin a cockroach so beautifully on the dissection board..
Actually i was meant to learn how to dissect it and clearly show the nervous system including the ganglion..But showing the nervous system itself took me enormous amount of time and patience. The ganglion was ever worser, I clearly never undertsood how I was supposed to show the ganglion when I never even knew how it looked like... :P

Also we had to display the five parts of a cockroach's mouth...Goshh till that day I never ever even imagined that a cockroach would also have a TONGUE ;) ;)

But I wasn't that lame either...I learnt properly how to dissect an earthworm and display its nervous system...The cleaning part was a bit nasty and yuckkk ( hate the smell )..But the worst part is the day when my earthworm practicals got over I had to have noodles for dinner :'( :'(

Secondly, comes PLANT DIVERSITY... My professor had some unique pronunciation disorder..I sometimes was so stunned by his pronunciation that I would stop jotting down the notes and wonder at his intelligence. But I loved both my professors who took the subject..One never used to take classes AT ALL.. The other gave notes here and there..

The most amazing thing I love doing in the lab is STERILIZING THE INOCULATION LOOP :D :D :D

Its soo fun doing that.Besides the flame would lit up so lovely..That's the most romantic part of doing practicals *blush*blush*

Also submitting the records, assignments at the last minute..Running up and down the schedules..The last minute tests..Long boring lectures... WORSER long long boring guest lectures..God kill those people who come in for guest lectures...

But all said and done... One year has taught me a lot, but most of all I enjoyed biotech like no other freakin specimen in this planet...

SO finally

Whatzzzzuuppppppp

I never really realized how much important ' the most amazing app ' was in my life until today..I just returned from my granny's home where I was totally deprived of internet connection for 4 days..And once i returned and connected to my home's wifi, I heard my mobile bling and to my amazement the notification read

" 359 messages from 18 conversations "

Wohoo!!! the amount of messages we girls exchange ;) ;)

Now that's enough to brighten up anyone's day :D :D :D

Chilling out !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the summer days are on the toil mom decided to make palm fruit milkshake..I have never had one before and this was my first attempt in trying one..The story goes like during the days of my mom's pregnancy i.e., when she was expecting my sister. My mom would not drink or have any other foodstuff other than this milkshake..And so when my mom was making this I was a lot more excited to taste a new drink :) that's because I'm a big FOODIE ;)

Also being a good student of botany I also managed to learn byheart the scientific name of palm fruit...Its called Borassus flabellifer (sounds more like a harry potter spell )

Thats how the fruit looks like..Not much of a beauty

From the brown shelled stuff to get the perfect angelic fruit is a bit of a slow process...A person would need a lot of patience to do that..And i recommend someone who is so jobless to try this stuff..I literally got mad trying to de-shell ( thats what i call the process) the fruits.

Then add the fruits to the juicer along with milk and sugar and icecubes....

Tadaaa!!!! You get an awesome milkshake and it tastes damn good...

Dishkiyaooonnnn

First of all I had to pool up all my ability to tolerate long hours of bakwaas to watch a harman baweja movie..The reason I gave the movie a chance was because of this cliche tagline

"AADMI BADA HO YA CHHOTA, KOI FARAK NAHI PADTA, BAS USKI KAHANI BADI HONI CHAHIYE "

The debutant Ayesha Khanna who plays the role of Harman's love interest is pretty I agree. But even Harman would definetly had a very hard time saying this dialogue to her...

" Tum zara si kam khoobsurat hoti ... toh bhi bahut khoobsurat hoti "

That's truly over over exaggeration of the girl's beauty..

Sunny Deol could have portrayed the character a bit well..But I truly liked his motto that he held onto..
" Marte hue ko kabhi rokne ka nahi ... dushman galti kare toh tokne ka nahi ... aur yaar ki item ko kabhi chune ka nahi "

But best of all I loved Prashant Narayanan's portrayal of Mota Tony character.. His acting was decent and the dialogues were fab...

" Bewajah kisi ko phodne ka nahi ... par agla na maane ... toh phir usko chhodne ka nahi "

And also seeing Anand Tiwari as a gangster was soo hilarious :D :D :D

Inshort by the end of the movie my reaction was

The raining days....!!!

Its been raining continuously for a couple of days in my place.Which is considered pretty much weird as the summer is about to begin. This totally reminds me of this scene in a hindi movie titled " london paris newyork" where the protagonist claims that in London during summers it rains a lot.. :P

When i used to be a NRI i always loved rains..I always dreamt of myself getting drenched in rain and dancing to my favourite songs. But now did I realise that all your most desired fantasies could also seem to be of the least interest when your mind is upset. For the past three days I have (to my dismay) never got out of my room and never for once rejoiced the fact that its been raining the whole day.But truly the weather seems so pleasant and so romantic indeed <3 <3 but to enjoy and take in all those simple pleasures of life one needs to be a bit more at peace with self..

For now I have to live with my loneliness and confusions on my own...

But amid all this misery I somehow managed to learn a new word and enhance my vocabulary skills.
